To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori our new series Tiki Towns will air on Nickelodeon and Prime kids. Tiki Towns showcases a wide variety of Māori place names and teaches not only the correct pronunciation, but also the meaning and stories behind them. Matakitaki mai!
We have just embarked on a new series for Prime and Nickeledoen called Tiki Towns. Tiki Towns is a series of one minute intistitials explaining the correct pronounciation of some of our Maori place names and the history of those names.
We are currently working on two projects at the moment. The first is ‘Gate To The Globe’ a series profiling our Maori farms and companies exporting around the globe. For example did you know the wool used to make Wilson tennis balls, the official ball of the US Open comes from Aotearoa! The Te Amokura crew are off to Asia and the Middle East next month to film some of the stories and where the products end up.
This is the crew on their trip to America last month.
Our second project is animation check out the website www.pukapuka.nz where you will see some of the new stories we are developing.
Lastly our documentary Making Good Men which aired last year on Prime will feature in the Doc Edge Festival in May.
